Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology
Dr. Tolga Gülçiçek was born in Ankara in 1977. After graduating from Bahçelievler Deneme High School in Ankara, he began his five-year dental education at Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry in 1995 and graduated with high honors in 2000. In the same year, he ranked first in the national specialty exam and started his residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Gazi University.
In 2002, he completed an 8-month rotation at Gazi University Medical Faculty Hospital in the departments of Anesthesiology, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), and Plastic Surgery. He then continued his training in London, England, for 6 months.
In 2005, he worked as a visiting faculty member at the University of Michigan Hospital and Mott Children’s Hospital in the United States. During this time, he participated in numerous advanced surgeries alongside Prof. Dr. Joseph I. Helman and the late Prof. Dr. L. George Upton, who passed away in 2010.
In May 2006, he completed his Ph.D. and became a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. From August 2006 to August 2007, he fulfilled his military service as a reserve officer dentist at the Etimesgut Armored Units School and Training Division Command in Ankara.
In March 2011, he joined many advanced-level surgeries as a visiting oral surgeon at University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands.
In May 2012, he participated in orthognathic surgeries and iliac bone grafting procedures as a visiting maxillofacial surgeon at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark.
In September 2012, he joined a series of advanced-level jaw surgeries and iliac bone grafting operations at Siegen Jung-Stilling Hospital in Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Berthold H. Hell.
In 2013, he was invited to Poliambulatorio Dalla Rosa Prati Hospital in Parma, Italy, by Dr. Andrea Menoni. There, he participated in many surgeries and trained directly under Dr. Menoni in the "BOX TECHNIQUE," a new method for bone augmentation surgery. He later introduced this technique in Turkey.
In 2017, he joined Prof. Dr. Harald Eufinger and his team in many advanced surgeries at Klinikum West in Recklinghausen, Germany.
Since November 2007, he has been continuing his professional work at his clinic in Ataşehir, Istanbul, specializing in Implantology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Intraoral Bone Grafting, Advanced Bone Grafting including Iliac Bone Grafts, and Aesthetic Dentistry.
He has given numerous lectures and presentations in Turkey and abroad. He provided a 15-day surgical training program at his clinic to a group of six doctors from Russia, and upon their insistence, traveled to Moscow to train many more Russian doctors.
He continues to give lectures and presentations as a speaker today.
Dr. Gülçiçek is a member of the Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Association of Oral and Facial Surgery, the Turkish Oral Implantology Association, the Osseointegration Association, and the Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.
He is married with three daughters. In his free time, Dr. Gülçiçek enjoys enduro and adventure motorcycling, exploring both Turkey and the world, and occasionally engages in long-distance swimming training.
